Ingredients

  • 1 cup chickpeas (soaked overnight (don't use canned chickpeas))

  • 1/2 onion (roughly chopped)

  • 1 cup parsley (roughly chopped (about a one large bunch))

  • 1 cup cilantro (roughly chopped (about a one large bunch))

  • 1 small green chile pepper ((serrano or jalapeno pepper))

  • 3 cloves garlic

  • 1 tsp. cumin

  • 1 tsp. salt

  • 1/2 tsp. cardamom

  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper

  • 2 tbsp. chickpea flour

  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda

  • oil (for frying)

Directions

    Soak your dried chickpeas overnight or for at least 8 to 12 hours.

    Pulse all the ingredients to a food processor.

    Chill the falafel.

    Shape the falafel.

    Cook the falafel.

    Remove the falafel.

    Serve the falafel immediately.
